Asbestos Uses / Trades

Asbestos has a number of valuable properties which include not only physical strength but also resistance to chemicals, non-combustibility and good thermal and electrical insulation. As a result it was heavily used in the construction and shipbuilding industries particularly in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
